UOA Guidebooks
Written, reviewed and updated by WOC(ET) nurses, UOAA Guidebooks (also available in Spanish) provide down-to-earth answers from what to wear, eat and do after diversionary surgery.

The following titles can be downloaded for free. They are not copyrighted, so you can make copies for your support group, patients, family, etc. Selling the guidebooks is prohibited.

Colostomy Guidebook

Intimacy, Sexuality and an Ostomy

Diet and Nutrition
Compiled by Bobbie Brewer, ET. This guide focuses on how diet and nutrition interact with an ostomy. Intended for new and seasoned ostomates, it includes general principles and guidelines to help achieve adequate nutrition and an improved quality of daily living. (120kb PDF)
